The Indie Wines California Wine Club
At Indie Wines, our mission is to help small California wineries
expand their reach and to introduce our customers to some of the
finest wines that will never make it to your local wine store.
We never send white wines in club shipments -- it's not that we
don't appreciate a crisp sauvignon blanc or buttery chard, we just
want to make the best use of our shipping dollar (especially since
we don't charge you for shipping!)
We only choose wines that we would serve to our closest friends
and family- who are all pretty much serious wine connoisseurs! The
two bottles of red that we ship to you are chosen according to their
ability to stand on their own, or to complement a substantial meal.
We select our bottles after tasting Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and any
blends which the Vintner is able to convince us will meet our strict,
but simple, criteria of "Big Red Wines." We also use our
broad wine industry connections to access hard to find reserve and
small production wines from the best producers in the state. In
every case, these are wines that you will not find in your local
wine shop.
When you join the Indie Wines wine club, you'll receive one shipment
each quarter of the year. We ship the wines during the months of
March, May, September and December and we email you a Shipping Alert
so that you know when to expect your order. With every shipment
we include the winemakers' tasting notes, along with information
about reordering from the winery.
Please join us on an insider's tour of California's best small
production wines. With all that is happening in the wine industry
these days, it pays to look for those undiscovered gems that offer
the true value in the marketplace.
Here's what some of our members have said about their experience
with Indie Wines.
“Thanks again for your diligent search for the best wines. Keep
up the good work.”
Indie Wines Cellar Club charter member Janet Elkins
“I am not a wine expert by any means but based on other wines we
have (tried) this one seems like a very strong value. I have had
a couple of wines in the $70 range that are no more enjoyable to
me than this one.”
Indie Wines Connoisseur Club member Devin Parsons about the 2000
Forth Vineyards Dry Creek Cabernet included in the Spring 2004 Tasting
Series
“My wife and I recently shared the Mayo Zinfandel (from Indie Wines
Spring 2003 Connoisseur Club) with some very good friends and we
are all very impressed with this wine and would like to purchase
a case of it. Are there any available?”
Connoisseur Club member Michael Guitard
“Seems almost like Christmas!”
Kris & Mick Diede, members of both the Indie Wines
Cellar & Connoisseur Clubs
“Happy Sunday Morning.... We had a dinner party last night
and had the distinct pleasure of serving (finally) the Sterling
Winery Lake Merlot with our yummy meal (osso bucco). It was
so wonderful, a very big merlot indeed. My question is can you get
me more? Like a half-case? Maybe even a whole case?
Endless thanks”
Connoisseur Club member Alison Wright
I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed my first shipment of
wines this month! The BV (Signet Series) Zin was incredible and
I MUST have more. Thank you!
Indie Wines Connoisseur Club member Pamela Skolnicki
Enjoy,
The Indie Wines Team
